OVERVIEW OBAMA WHITE HOUSE ABOUT

Michael+Mundy.jpg

MEET MICHAEL.

Michael Mundy has been quietly working for 20 plus years for the world’s most prestigious publications and brands.

His first job in photography as an apprentice for the venerable Oberto Gili took him all over the world and onto his life’s chosen path. Never choosing to specialize allowed him the freedom to shoot interiors, travel, lifestyle, portraits and fashion. Shooting Stephen Sills first New York apartment for World of Interiors led to opportunities to shoot for HG, Wallpaper, Town & Country, Esquire, Travel and Leisure magazines. Brands needing to establish an identity chose him to collaborate. His most esteemed assignment came recently as an opportunity alongside Michael Smith to shoot the Obama Whitehouse for Architectural Digest which led to a book Designing History: The Extraordinary Art & Style of the Obama White House.

Michael is kind and respectful of all of his subjects in both his comportment and approach.

His photographs are deceptively simple. He travels light with a camera, one assistant and a few lights. Taking a closer look you will see they are all beautifully crafted and thoughtful in a way which is rare in today’s fast photo economy.
