MEET HAI.

Ngô Hoàng Hải means King of the Golden Ocean—a memento of his parents’ escape by boat. After the Vietnam war, Hai's parents fled post-war persecution by sea. Born in a refugee camp in Malaysia, Hai now resides in New York City. He studied photography at Parsons Paris and philosophy at Carleton College. Focused on beauty, Hai's work explores the intersection of photo and video while emphasizing subtlety.
